A Horizon Van de Stadt is a 24ft masthead rigged sloop made from fibreglass with a diesel inboard engine. It was designed in the 60's by E. G. van de Stadt and built by the Belgian shipyard Van Heygen. The model is best known as the smaller version of its famous predecessor 'Pionier'.
Octobre 1st 2022 was memorable. Moving sailboat 'Missy' from the Mercator Marina to a dry dock in Ostend for a total refit. Screening the dammage after it had been abandoned due to the pandemic and the 2020 lockdown. A new beginning and a new name for an old Horizon Van de Stadt.
More than a year of uphill battle but finally ready to tack PEL61 into the wind. Farewell to 2023 and farewell to the shipyard. Finally time to launch and sail to a new berth in the harbour at the Royal Yachtclub of Ostend. From now on the adventure will be at sea, sailing through 2024.
